Jag Mandir, Kota |
The monument is a red sandstone construction that is best viewed during sunrise. However, the palace exudes a certain beauty and charm that is further highlighted by the surrounding waters so timing isn’t much of a worry. It was built in 1740 by one of the maharanis of Kota and has now come to occupy pride of place in the tourist map of Kota. In the vicinity is the Keshar Bagh, a structure well-known for its cenotaphs. A boat ride is organized in the day for trips to the Jag Mandir. The Kishore Sagar Lake was constructed in 1346 AD by Prince Der Deh of Bundi. |
